Ah-ha I'm back

Ah-ha indeed. Yes I'm back, and have been away so long I hardly knew the place. Not sure why I stopped, back in February, but it seemed to coincide with the withdrawal of my job offer, after I'd waited for more than two months, so maybe I was just so fed up, and angry, that I couldn't be bothered to write here any more. And on that bombshell...

Bad News

Had letter from prospective employer, withdrawing provisional offer of employment due to some supposed problem with a reference. Needless to say the manager who I need to speak to to find out what is going on, is not in today.

Cold Today

There were a few tiny flakes of snow as I walked down the hill into town this morning.

Russian Weather Not Cold Enough Shock

Apparently many Muscovites are currently depressed because it's not cold enough, and they are not getting the sun that normally comes with colder, crisper weather. This weekend the temperature was a balmy 7C. rather than the usual minus 30 degrees. Psychologists are recommending that people eat chocolate and bananas to keep up their spirits through damp, grey days. Very good. It's well known that bananas can cure all ailments.

Bigmouth Strikes Again

Former Smiths singer Morrissey could represent the UK at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC has confirmed. The Mancunian musician first expressed an interest in taking part after Daz Sampson's song, Teenage Life, came fifth from last in the 2006 contest.
"I was horrified but not surprised to see the UK fail," he said. "Why didn't they ask me?"
The BBC says it is in talks with the singer to write and possibly perform a track for this year's contest in May. (Write the theme tune, sing the theme tune...) Excellent.
